I have had my share of lumpy bumpy too thick too thin, too dry and too watery cream of wheat – finally the foolproof recipe to make the dream bowl of cream of wheat – perfect consistency, texture and taste every time. Once you master this basic recipe you can then expand it to make sweet and savory versions of cream of wheat. Enjoy – there is nothing quite so soothingly satisfying as the perfect bowl of cream of wheat.
1 cup of spring or filtered water
¼ cup organic cream of wheat
Salt to taste
½ to 1 tsp. ghee
Bring water to boil
Add ¼ cup cream of water and stir constantly for 1 minute
Cover and take off theta
Let sit for 5 minutes
Uncover, add ghee and salt
Can serve with vegetables (carrots, asparagus, zucchini, broccoli), egg or chicken sausage. I personally like it plain but when I want a more filling meal I love to have it with a scrambled egg.
