Thermos Cardamom Oatmeal

1/3 cup oatmeal organic Quick Cooking or Regular Oats

¼ tsp. of cardamom *

1 tablespoon soaked slivered almonds **

1 tablespoon golden raisins

3/4 cup of boiling water ***

½ tsp. ghee

16 oz hot thermos

1. Place oatmeal, cardamom, slivered almonds, raisin in small thermos

2. Add one cup of boiling water

3. STIR well

4. Screw lid on thermos TIGHTLY

5. Let sit for 15 minutes

6. Open lid and add ghee and stir

7. Let it cool a bit and then enjoy

*Depending how fresh the cardamom is may need to use more or less

** Ideally use soaked sprouted silvered almonds but if you don’t have time to prepare the almonds this

way just buy organic slivered. Soaking and sprouting makes the almonds more digestible and nutritious

*** Can vary amount of water depending on how thick or thin you like it

¾ cup water is good if you are eating it right away; use more ⅘ to 1 cup if it is eating it later

I find this recipe sweet enough with raisins but can also add some jaggery or other unrefined sugar to

sweeten to taste
